Hi, I'm going holiday next monday for 2 months (yep, long one.) and I know I will get board out of my ass like I did last year. So I've decided to pull out my old gaming PC I purchased 3 years ago that I never used. (what a shame.)

Specifications:

CPU: Pentium D 820 (2.8Ghz x 2 - 1MB Cache x 2) - Overclocked to 3.0Ghz
RAM: 2GB DDR2 800Mhz Crucial Ram

Now that I pulled that out, and started it up I found out I was ripped off when purchasing it with a crappy 7200GS graphics card that couldn't even handle AoE3. So that is why I'm here.

I was so sure that the graphics card for me was the 8600GTS DDR3 512MB, but I thought on the last second before I went ahead to get it to "google" around (bad idea) and now I've found the HD 3850.

For some reason, the HD 3850 is reduced on everything compared to the 8600GTS, yet performs so well, upto 30FPS more on most games.

Is this true? Which is better? The HD 3850 or the 8600GTS. I can get both at the same price, second hand on ebay.

PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST GETTING ANOTHER CARD LIKE THE 8800GT or anything... I CAN'T AFFORD IT!

Thank you.
