Hey guys I was hoping you can give me some advise on my overclocking.

I have a AMD Phenom x3 720 Black Edition 2.8ghz. I have changed the cpu multipliers to x16 with an end result of bumping the ghz from 2.8 to 3.21 ghz. Using the OCCT program I ran a cpu stress test at 100% load for 10 min and the temps went from idle at 44.63 to 63 degrees C. How do I know if this is a safe overclock to leave my cpu at or if I can bump it to 3.4 or 3.6? What is safe temps to keep it at?

Thanks for the advise

At 10 min of 100% stress load with OCCT, at about 5 min in I get a blue screen saying system failure and I reboot. When running Rift at full settings I get a temp of 51c only when I run the stress test do i get to 63c.

Thanks for the advise

63 degrees is to hot in my opinion, you might want to get a aftermarket heatsink to keep the temps under 50C.

Take a look at this http://products.amd.com/pages/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=... the max temp is 73C so you might not want to overclock it any further until you get a better cooler.
