Hi all,

I'll be building my second system (first one is 6 years old). How do you see this working out for me?

Purchase date: Next few weeks

Budget: ~$1400

Usage: Photo editing. Photoshop CS4, internet, no gaming

Overclocking: Probably not

OS: Vista. Or should I download the beta of 7?

Thanks for that. I'll get the OCZ Platinum.

What do you think of the other stuff?

Thanks again,

Tom

A few changes I would make. First of all your psu is over kill. A good 550w is more than enough to push that rig and then some. Also I'm 100% all for after market heat sinks whether over clocking or not. You can get a heat sink just as good as the one you have, yet cheaper. Here is a few changes I would look at down below....

Great advice. Thanks much!

If I went with Windows 7RC I'd have to reinstall next year. It sounds like you won't be able to just buy a license. Also, it looks like 64 bit Epson printer drivers are available. How about for video cards?

Maybe going with Vista and upgrading is a better idea?

You've been a big help. Thanks again.

Vista for now would be the safer choice as far as drivers go.

Quick question. Think the ASUS EN9600GT is overkill for photo editing (Photoshop CS4)? If so any suggestions?

Thanks,

Photo editing doesn't require video card support a 9400GT would be fine and will still support CUDA filters
