I have windows 8 32 bit installed on my system, but I wish to upgrade my hard drive to a faster ssd and get a ram upgrade so I

need the 64 bit version to do so. Is there a way I can get windows 8 64 bit onto the new drive? Or am I stuck with 32 bit?

And before I forget, yes my system can support 64 bit, I had installed 32 bit by mistake.

I hope your purchased the DVD, because if you 'upgraded' from a 32bit previous windows install, you cannot go to 64bit. I did this from 32bit Vista and had to ask for a refund and order the DVD for 64bit...so it cost me $70 instead of $40 to upgrade Win8

I bought the upgrade...... Could I install the consumer preview onto the new disk and then upgrade?

I assume you mean the Windows 8 64bit consumer preview? No idea if that is a valid upgrade path.
