i would get intel core i7 920 + x58 mobo + 6gb ddr3 1600 ram

($185) MSI X58 Pro LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

($280)Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

($100) OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Total= $565

I would go with the x58 since you have 800wat psu so you can add another graphic card in future. also if you would get this dont forget to back up all your data. you will have to format the hard drive when you replace the internals because there will be old drivers on the hard drive and the windows will not boot at all.

hope that helps

Alvine.

Link is broken, even without the period. Anyways, both the Ph2 720 and 940 are better than the e8500, even in most dual-core games. None of them will be a bottleneck until more quad-threaded games hit the market, then the C2D *may* become one.
