Hi,

So that is the hard drive that I purchased last year which carries a 3yr warranty. Lately I've been getting error messages on windows stating that the drive is failing. "Windows detected a hard drive problem." Upon googling I find out the SMART parameters on the drive are off which basically means the drive is failing or will fail at any point.

Now I've been on hold with samsung for 15 minutes waiting for a live person and nothing. Waiting on an email response and still nothing.

My question is will samsung warranty and replace my drive even thought it has not technically failed yet?
And also is there some sort of utility program I can run to test my drive? Perhaps so that I can print it out as some sort of proof.

Thanks.

Is this what you meant? I don't see a SMART tab per say.
But the error tab says it may be caused by a damage cable so I will certainly try a new one and see how that goes.
