Should I just sell my second 8800GT?

I honestly am thinking about just selling my second 8800GT. Almost every game I play lately runs worse with SLI enabled and the second card just makes my system hotter and noisier.

My question is:

Sell the 8800GT and keep one until some good games come out (Star Craft 2, Diablo 3, etc.)?

Sell them both and buy a new card?

Or keep them both and hope it's worth it when those games come out?

What are your system specs? That has a lot of impact on your situation.

However, if you want to ever sell your 8800GT cards, now is probably the time to do it. Prices on much better cards are dropping quickly, so those 8800GTs won't be worth a whole lot much longer. :(

As a general rule though, a single high powered card is better than two lower powered cards IMO. How much gain you get from SLI is entirely dependent on driver optimizations and the specific game.

Hmmm.... driver problem perhaps? The vram on those cards could also be limiting you at that resolution depending on your settings. I say overclock your CPU and see if it helps any. If it does, then your CPU is the bottleneck. If it doesn't then perhaps you have a driver problem or those cards just aren't doing it for ya :D.
