I'm using a 4850, a 4550 and Windows 7. After a fresh install it seems pretty OK without installing ATI's drivers. For the heck of it I install Catalyst, and incidently it brought my experience index score up .1 in both graphics categories. Anyway, after installing catalyst the computer will no longer go into standby on its own. If I force it into standby, when it comes out I lose one of my 3 monitors.

After removing Catalyst, it goes into standby again on its own, and when it comes out I have all 3 monitors still, but I lost .1 in the graphics department.

Anyone experience something like this? Is there any downside to not using ATIs drivers?
