Windows 7 msi 790-gx-g65 sound issues

Hi there

I have my PC running Win7 64bit. it was running fine until a couple of days ago when the sound started playing up. I'm getting intermittent sound when i play a film or songs as if there is a loose cable. I have checked the speakers against my laptop but they are fine.

I tried to update my sound drivers but they say i have the latest.

The sound is unusable it crackles and cuts out.

anyone have any ideas?

Seen a few people with this problem.

But firstly how old is the board?

Just also make sure your speakers are connected properly to the (green imput) on the motherboard.
