I see most of the posts here pertain to direct TV, and wonder if there
is something better about it than dish network? We are considering
leaving cable and going with dish network due to lower cost and music
as well as TV. We wonder though, when seeing most posts here about
direct TV, that there may be something "wrong" with dish network that
we have not yet dicovered????

The main reasons I went with Dish Network was their dual output DVR
enabling me to feed the second output back onto the cable wiring in the
house and use it on any tv. Their UHF remotes work through walls and
can control the output from most anywhere in the house. You can buy
extra remotes on Ebay. Their programing is also cheaper. You actual
lease the DVR for $5/mo which is to my satisfaction as I don't want to
invest too much in fast changing technology. The $5 is realy nothing as
with multi regular recievers you pay a $5/mo fee for each one.

Try turning off the receiver and then unplugging for a few minutes and then
plug it back in and see if it works also make sure you have the right
antenna selected. It happened to me and the unplugging worked for me!

It depends on what channels you want. The Total Choice is cheaper for me on
Directv that it would for the same channels I want on Dish.

DirectTV for sports. Dishnet for everything else. They are basically the
same. Some say that the Dish pic is a little more pleasing on a large
screen.

Personally, I do enjoy both services though people have different satisfaction with what they think is useful for them. As I browsed over the internet, I came across with a topic which merely summarizes the difference between cable TV and dish network.
