I want to build a media center server. I have an older Mythtv system, but now want to try out the media center. I already know what video card I want and I am looking at some real interesting cases, but the MB is where I am not sure. I haven't built a computer in a while so I am out of tune right now.

I don't need anything for gaming. This will be strictly a windows 7 media center server. I will using it to watch movies, Blu-ray and regular DVD. It will be the central hub for any additions later.

With that being said I can't imagine that I need to jump into a $300 board, but this is where I am not sure.

Any ideas.
Thanks Alan

Thanks mindless. Is this video card hdcp compliant?
Looking at the specs: (HDMI output support

* Supports all display resolutions up to 1920x10801
* Integrated HD audio controller with multi-channel (5.1) AC3 support, enabling a plug-and-play cable-less audio solution
)
that 10801 looks like than might be interlace so then it isn't.

Also I noticed that it says 5.1, so I wonder if that means it can't do true-HD and 7.1

I guess this isn't a that big of a deal, because you can always add a new card.
