Anyone know if a Vaio ~F150 will post without a HD and
w/o a battery installed? The one I have will not, and the
screen does not illuminate. Possibly needs a replacement
cpu module?

Posting has little or nothing to do with batteries or hard drives (if it
does, the manufacturer should be shot). On the VAIOs that won't post,
it's a mainboard issue.

On the F150 the cpu is on a plug-in board
which makes substitution easier. Unforch
I do not have a substitute cpu board to try
out, but can wait for one as the Vaio doesn't take much storage room. Of
course, the problem may lie elsewhere.
