This is weird. I have catalyst control center 9.6, and I have manually set the fan to 82% because I overclocked the GPU to 778 and the RAM to 980. BUT whenever I start a game (I've tried Far Cry 2 and Crysis), the fan shuts off completely and the game goes to window mode (even though I have "full screen" selected in the game's settings. Why is this?

Device manager has my graphics card as 8.6.2. Shouldn't it be the same version as Catalyst? I downloaded and installed 9.6 display driver. Aghh, what's going on.

Go back to stock speeds and see if it happens again or not,it maybe an OC problem.

About the driver version,no its ok,Device manager and CCC both show 8.6.2 which is the Driver Packaging version but the catalyst version is 9.6 so there isnt any problem here :)

So I'm playing Crysis with FRAPS and only getting around 12-15 frames per second on High, 0xAA, at 1920x1080. This is terrible according to benchmarks I've seen on the net. Is it possible my 4870x2 is not using both GPUs, not performing in Crossfire mode? How can I check?

GPU-Z from here and Rivatuners hardware monitor might work to show whether both GPU's are working whilst gaming.
