Why wont my BIOS recognize my hard drive ?

I have a PC using a Gigabyte GA-P35-S3 motherboard (Bios revision F8). Recently I purchased a Western Digital 1TB drive ("Caviar Black - Model # WD1001FALS-00J7B1 ). My Bios recognized this drive straight away as being 1TB. Yesterday I purchased another Western Digital 1TB drive, but this is a "Caviar Green" model (WD10EADS-00P8B0).
My bios will not recognize this drive as being anything but 32MB. I have updated my bios already to the latest available version.

Is this a bios issue or an issue with the MBR?
Any ideas ?

what does windows say about the hdd?

It could be a bad drive. It does happen.

I'd suggest testing it in another system. If it doesn't work there, it's the drive.
