Odd optical drive noise?

Hello!
I recently installed an LG internal optical drive in my rig and noticed that upon start up the drive makes an odd knocking noise.
This only happens in the first five seconds of the computers start up.
Is this a common thing?
Or should I start looking to replace it?

Hello again!
Now it seems my drive has started to slow down.
I recently had to re-install windows and it took much longer than usual just to simply launch the disk.
So I have chosen to replace the drive.
