My Presario 2100 screen dims down when the machine is running on
batteries (preumably to preserve battery life) . I can't find anyway
of preventing this from happening.
Does anyone know if it can be done ?

It's - supposed - to happen. Its a power-saving feature. The flourescent tube
draws a LOT of juice. It dims to make your battery last longer. You cant
prevent it from happening. If you want it bright, use the AC charger - all the
time -

Pilots track their lives by the number of hours in the air,
as if any other time isn't worth noting....
