Hi and thx for any help you can give me.

I got a job to build a system for a company that has a video surveillance system and the software is DigiVue.

Anyways they want a system up in the front office that is dedicated to just display some camera feeds. They want 4 monitors connected to it going to different offices. I got parts in the cart but i am sure there is a cheaper way to go then what i have. I added a video card Radeon HD 4850 X2 2GB 512-bit just because it has 4 dvi ports on it which in return means i had to up the power supply etc. I have tapped into the surveillance program and watched the video just fine with a old seperon system so it does not have to be a power house. I just need to know what kind of video solutions i can use where i can get 4 or monitors hooked to it.

Any old video card can display two displays.

If you only have one free slot you will ahve to use soemthing like the 4850x2. Though most computers have at least 2 pcix slots now a days. In which case two of whatever is the cheepest card you can find will be fine. A really outdated PCI card would also be an option, but a bit inflated price for what you get now a days.

Something like a couple of 4650's woudl be fine.

so 2 cards with 2 ports each would be fine. They would not have to run in crossfire mode ? And if not should they be the same 2 typr of cards and will it be easy enough to set-up you think in the control panel ?

this will be a new system build just for this so a mother board and 2 cards yoiu can suggest would be great

Vista requires both cards to be the same driver, xp and seven do not. That being said, it is pointlessly complicated to not buy identical cards. They do not have to run in corssfire, in fact crossfire will only output to 2 ports if you do use it anyway.
