thank you

You are limiting yourself by asking for Intel in this case. At this budget and usage an AMD X3 720 makes the most sense.

You can add a discrete video card if you like, but the onboard is enough for non-Blu-ray titles, and might even run Blu-ray well.

Upgradeable for the future?

Then you want an AMD build or an i7/X58 build. LGA 775 has been a great socket, but it's done. The new Intel mainstream boards will be out later this year.

Also, DDR2 is going up in price while DDR3 is coming down, so any RAM upgrades to a DDR2 board in the future may be expensive.

There is nothing wrong with your build in general, although the PSU is overkill. The case is OK as long as you aren't overclocking.

then wat would be a reasonable power supply...modular

A decent modular power supply is expensive. I'm not sure why you need one for a case with no window that has no airflow to block.

This BFG is enough and is considered a bit higher quality than that OCZ.

This Corsair would be ideal:

However, if you MUST have modular:

Top quality, 5-year warranty.

BTW did you need the operating system or do you already have that? as it tends to get VERY expensive for the OS.
