My computer is not recognizing the cd drive

Hello,
I have a sony vaio and it is not recognizing the cd/dvd burner, it reads error code 38, what can I do to fix it?

Go into your Device Manager, uninstall the "error" cd/dvd burner (should be showing a yellow "!" mark by the device) than restart your PC. This should resolve the issue upon restart. Windows should install the generic drivers for the device or if you have a disk, you can install the manufacturer's drivers.
