I got a old computer lying around and I got some spare cash and would love to add in a new Video Card and PSU, hopefully then be able to play TF2 Low-Med on 1024 resolution(On 32 man servers) at a steady 40-60Frames

Budget: $0-200 Cheaper the better (Canadian, All prices Canadian)

Specs:

Athlon XP 2600+ (2.133ghz)~Single Core! ~ What does choke mean?

1GB Ram
DDR SDRAM, 2 slots with both 512mb each... Is it possible to upgrade this to
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=15556&vpn=VS1GB400C3&manufacture=Corsair
Is there any difference because this memory is DIMM and my current one is not so is it still compatible?
And should I just put in 1 stick of 1GB and keep 1 stick of 512MB or buy 2 sticks of 1GB?

GPU: AGP SLOT... Radeon X1300/X1550 Series currently.. Really want to upgrade it.

Or should I give up all hope on this system running TF2?
I don't need another *New Build* my core i7 will last...
Thanks

250W PSU.. going to upgrade to http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=33357&vpn=CMPSU-400CX&manufacture=CORSAIR&promoid=1018

Thanks

I once played on a server with a guy who claimed to have a 2500+ and a FX5500. He said everything was at low, but the game was playable at either 800x600, or 1024x768. (I can't remember his res) Your CPU is about that good, and your GPU is a lot better, though I'm not sure a 2600+ will be good enough for 1280x1024.

Between the ram and PSU update, you've already spent more then half your money. I'm not sure its even possible to buy a faster Socket A CPU anymore, so you might as well OC the h3ll out of it. This leaves you with just under $100 for a GPU upgrade, take a look around and see what you can find.
