Hello guys. I have some questions but first my computer:

DualCore Intel Pentium D 805, 2676 MHz (20 x 134) Actually 2,8 GHZ overclocked
Asus P5PL2 (3 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN)
2048 MB (DDR2-533 DDR2 SDRAM) Kingston
RADEON X600/X550 Series (256 MB) << WEAK

As you can see my videocard is extremely weak. It doesn't permit me to play games which require pixel shader 3 and games like HL2 NFS:MW,Carbon,FIFA 09 nad even 08 are choppy and I have to play them on low or med. I also play a lot of team fortress 2 and it lags too.

I think that all my other components allow me to play games like Mirror's edge, Assasin's creed, FIFA and etc.
I want to say that I am not a hardcore gamer and I don't care if the AA is off or the models on a good game are on high not MEGA high.
I hope you understand me...so my question is: What videocard should I get. I had some discussions in other forums and my conclusion is:
HD4830 or the new HD4770

Thanks in advance

either card is nice but for your gaming needs the 4830 is cheaper and i dont know where you shop but right now the only 4770 at newegg is the one from diamond witch i would not advise getting.

4830
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102822
also they have a 1gig one for $20 bucks more
4770

i have 4830 and it plays everything i play fine
unless you plan to overclock the heck out if it the 4830 for the price is the one that i'd go for
and make sure that your power supply has a 6pin connector any newer better card requires a 6pin connector.
If you dont have the power connector i would go with this card

its a 4670

Your GPU is not the matter here . Both HD 4830 and HD 4770 will do the work . But the main thing is your pentium D 805 . I myself have a P-D 915 2.8 GHz .

Again you did not state your power supply and both those cards require a 6pin connector, and he's right if your into games you might want to think about upgrading your cpu also.

good call if your looking for somthing that isnt ati, just note that particular card is long, make sure you have room, also for the ati card its not really that long but its wide.

I will change my PSU because it's old and weak. The question is: Can I play most of the new games(Not on mega max graphics) because people tell me (in my native forums) "you won't see any difference because your CPU is weak adn you'll get the same results..."
I went to a computer shop in my town and the guy there explained that I won't be able to use AA (I don't care) and won't be able to play on Ultra High. If this is true I am buying that card for sure!
