Toshiba Laptop running very slow

Hello,
My Toshiba Laptop (Satelite Pro Model PSPA4A-005002)purchased 2006/2007 from memory, is running very slow. The Windows XP & Toshiba disks that came with it are in storage in another state.
I have just put 4gig ram into it, with no noticable improvement.

what options do I have??

Run your anti virus, and several anti malware scans, malwarebytes is a good one, and there are other free ones out there you can try..
