Recently i noticed some changes to the Dell Inspiron 8600 chassis. The
parallel/serial/infrared ports seem to be gone and there is no
trackpoint to be found. Some users report an improved keyboard. What's
the deal now: a cost-cutting measure by dell or did theys improve on
the Inpsiron 8600? Am i late in finding out about the changes?
Thanks
Christian

See the earlier post about "Dell Hell" I think was the title -- guy
ordered an 8600 based on the pictures on the web then found
that the ports were gone and got nothing but a run around from Dell.
Same newsgroup.
Linux users brag on how long their system stays up,
Window users assume it's a temporary condition ...

Thanks for the hint. I read the post and so it's clear that there have
been changes. The question is why? A new board, to save money, to
improve the keyboard?
