Cant copy files to cd on xp

I can not copy files to my cd player i get to the point where i
am told to insert disk in cd drive but i alreay have one in place.
I tried many types of disks ect, it used to work fine but i did
a complete reinstall after a virus, maybe this could of caused
this, i am not computer literate so any help i can receive would
be helpful

Try updating the the CD Drive Drivers.

Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > device manager >


click the plus sign next to dvd/cd rom (to expand and show the device)

Right click the device > click update driver

Get someone who is computer literate to revies device manager for errors, and also go to your computer mfg site and download install the cd drivers, or do other troubleshooting for you.

Thanks i will take your advise, and get some expert to check this out,
this is way beyond me.
