Nv4_disp BSOD (not driver problem)

My 3-year old AMD 939 system is BSODing with nv4_disp. I assume it's hardware related because system also BSODs when using Vista or Windows 7 (beta) (I haven't tried booting to SuSE). I also tried GHOSTing back an image I know was good. Clearly I have a graphics hardware problem. What I'd like to know is whether it's the monitor or video card.

I had an old monitor and got this error message.
As soon as I replaced the monitor, the problem was fixed.

Other than that, there are loads of answers on google for your particular problem.
