Why is my RAM running at half speed?

mobo is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128339

using cpu-z (like my sig says...) my RAM is stated at running @400mhz... the bios says its running at 800mhz... hmmm.... any help appreciated

  1. Since DDR2 memory transfers information twice per clock cycle, DDR2-800 should run at 400 MHz. CPU-Z shows the actual speed of the RAM, while the BIOS shows the equivalent DDR2 speed.
