Looking to upgrade my bios, but the bios can't be found.

Everest says I have a Elitegroup motherboard ECS G31T-LM2

I searched the elite group site and they don't have my exact motherboard bios. They have one that is close, "G31T-M"

Should I just go with that bios? Would it hurt my motherboard if I used the wrong bios?

You probably have an oem system by acer or other proprietary vender. I wouldn't flash with a different bios. Even if it works, your old windows copy may not load; most are loaded at the factory and check for the proper bios each time you boot up.

Yea you're right I have a computer made by lenovo. Is there a way to update the bios or is the bios in these proprietary computers the newest it gets?
