Trying to decide on a motherboard. Suggestions. What would be better between these two boards:

MSI X58 Pro-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Really looking for a board capable of moderate overclocking and is reliable. Thanks.

The motherboard is a very important piece for any computer, like the one you currently have. It has to be chosen with care and comfort, and it will, as a matter of fact, work as the brain of the computer. According to my calculations, the motherboard that the owner decides to buy is totally up to their specific needs, and the requirements of the specific system they are deciding to buy for their current computer. Please be so kind to enlighten me and enrich my common knowledge on the subject of which parts you have t decided to associate with the motherboard.

I would go with Gigabyte over MSI for a motherboard. Gigabyte EX58 UDxx series or the Asus P6 series are hard to beat for their price and features.

What about the ASrock X58 extreme. Realized the Gigabyte only supports 16g Gigabyte

Gigabyte and Asus are the brands I generally recommend but I have read good things about ASrock boards.

Only 16gb? lol LGA 1366 will be obsolete before 16gb of memory becomes anywhere near necessary.
