What is the best CPU for this Biostar TA780G M2+ motherboard ? Also if I use an AM3 socket CPU does that mean I can use ddr3 ram with this board or am I confined to ddr2? I'm a little confused because on the Biostar webpage http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/t-series/introduction.php?S_ID=344 it says: •Dual-Channel DDR2 -1066/800/667/533 , but later on in the specs it says: "By the way, AM3 CPU supports both DDR2 /DDR3 memory module" so does that mean I can use ddr3 ram or not? Thanks for your help.

Solution
you answered your own question.
An AM3 cpu can go in a socket (Am2+ ddr2,ddr3) or AM3 ddr3 board and use the ram which that board uses.
The motherboard specs say ddr2 not ddr3.
An AM3 motherboard cannot use a AM2+ processor.
The board you mention can only use ddr2 but almost any amd processor, check the motherboard web site for any processor limintations.
The only exception is on a thursday follwing a full moon.
