Hi all

i'm facing this issue where my computer many a time dont boot properly.
as such, my computer will start running yet nothing can be seen on the monitor, and it doesnt make that noise when it does when booted normally.
and it will automatically change my resolution to a much lower resolution when i entered desktop.

anyone please help me, is it the graphic card being faulty ?
i just bought this computer and the graphic card being gtx 275

thanks in advance

What is the make, model, and native resolution of your monitor? How old is it?

What resolution are you using for your desktop?

Are you running XP?
(I had same problems with it)
Try reinstalling the OS.

. . . many a time dont boot properly.

So, sometimes it boots fine. Most times? Does anything unusual happen before one of these "bad boots"?

So, what do you do when this happens? Power off? Just wait?

How did you get it into desktop?

Dont know yet. Some crazy ideas, but need the above info.

most likely culprit is the video card driver. lowe resolution is caused by windows using the legacy driver. If / when you manage to boot into windows normally download the latest driver and re-install it.

I was going to say bad power source... your powersource has more than one PCIe connector for the vid card, try another. Maybe one of the rails is going?

Also, you can try to turn of monitor auto detect through the GeForce driver and force 1920 x 1200 / 60 Hz (which should be the native resolution/freq.)

sorry stardude, dont quite understand the auto detet through geforce driver.. which driver is that ?
