Hi,
Can anyone recomend any books on building, upgrading and repairing computers and associated OS?

Am looking for something that goes into full detail and covers eveything to do with pc's hardware and operating systems - likes command lines scripts etc and trouble shooting.

I currently know enough to be dangerous and feel comfortable to build my own system from scratch, set up the bios and play in the registries etc but want to be able to learn more and be confident to do everything myself.

A couple of authors I have looked at is Scott Meuller and Mike Meyers online but don't have access to their books to see if they are what I need.

Thanks in advance
Gary

If you're after building something specified for gaming, here's a good one:
http://www.amazon.com/Build-Ultimate-Gaming-Machine-ExtremeTech/dp/0471755478/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244057703&sr=1-8

If you're just after a general guide then this one may be up your street:
http://www.amazon.com/Build-Fix-Own-Beginners-Upgrading/dp/0789738279/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244057703&sr=1-2

This probably won't apply to you, but if you're totally new to the whole thing then this:
http://www.amazon.com/Build-Your-Yourself-Dummies-Computer/dp/0470196114/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244057703&sr=1-1

Books outdate very quickley though, as tech advances the techniques to build may change along with it, so i wouldnt be too heavily reliant on tech books. The knowledge that everyone here on Toms Hardware has come from experience, very little book usage involved. The rig im running now was built from scratch with my 2 hands and i hadn't used a book. You say you're confident in building and setting up, well have a little faith in yourself and just dive in at the deep end, its the best way.
