I am having problems with the Phenom 2 940 on M2N-SLI Deluxe. They only started appearing after changing the CPU. The Phenom 2 940 is not officially supported on this motherboard although many people have been able to get it to work. May someone that has successfully gotten it to work detail the process?
The problems include XP install BSODing.

The obvious question is which BIOS are you using? Have you checked the ASUS forums? They are pretty handy for solving motherboard specific issues.

BIOS version 1701, it is the most up to date.

The problem seems to be with PCI, I could work as long as you do not use any PCI cards.

That's a pretty poor fix tbh. Have you tried vista or windows 7 to see if that works?

I have not and the person who was trying to do that has already put his old CPU in and is reinstalling xp.

He tried again with the same procedure and It worked this time, and with less problems than his previous unsupported CPU. Thanks!
