AMD Phenom II 955 Problem

Hello all.

I bought my self AMD Phenom II 955 today and after the installation my CPU-Z shows that my core speed is at 1600 MHz. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it?

maybe someone else can help, does it stay like that when you're running something aside from cpu-z alone?

AMD Cool-n-quiet is turned on in the BIOS.

I figure it out... My BIOS wasn't updated. By the way, what is the difference with AMD Cool-n-Quiet and without AMD Cool-n-Quiet being turn on ?

Cool-n-quiet slows the processor down when it isn't under load so that it runs cooler and more energy efficient. With it off it would run at the set 3.2 speed consistently.

So is it better to have it off or on ?

I would say if you are planning to overclock then turn it off. Otherwise It doesn't matter.
