Hi guys,

I have a question about which heat sink to get. I am getting i5 2500K with ASUS P8P67 Deluxe and CM HAF 922 case. I m thinking of OC to ~4.5Ghz.. is the Cool Master Hyper 212 plus provide enough cooling for this OC.

Also, I was recommended to use Scythe SCMG-2100.. However this one looks huge and I m afraid it won't fit in my case? is this a valid concern?

Any of these coolers is particular better (cooling, mounting, etc) to my mobo, CPU, and case?

Both coolers are about the same price at NewEgg:

Cool Master Hyper 212 plus $34.99 USD

Scythe SCMG-2100 $39.99 USD

Appreciate your help. Thanks!

You'll be fine with the hyper 212+. I run at 4.4Ghz and it doesn't get higher than the 50s unless I stress test it with prime95 and then it touches 70C.

The 212+ is an awesome cooler. You can easily OC to 4.5GHz for everyday use with yours.

@ crewton - if your 2500K reaches 70'C @ 4.4GHz, there might be something amiss. My 212+ gives me awesome cooling on a Core 2 Quad, overclocked from 2.66GHz to 3.2GHz - it never exceeds 50'C, even under 100% load with any benchmarking tool. Best have it looked at :)
