I plan to purchase a NVIDIA 9800 GT PCI-E X16 video card and I am not sure if it will work in my motherboard. My motherboard does have the slot available, but I have a DDR2 RAM in my motherboard, and the video card will be GDDR3. I am not the most technically literate when it comes to hardware because I am mainly a computer programmer.
I just thought that some video cards are only compatible with higher up motherboards? As far as I know I have a *** mobo.

If you have the slot in the motherboard, the card will work.
After all, there are plenty of DDR2 motherboards with DDR5 4870's in them.
My brother use GDDR 3 VGA card in his old PCIe X16 (8 line) Mobo and it run fine.
Okay, thank you for the quick and kind replies. Peace.
