Sorry for not following the prescribed ask-for-build-advice format, but my question is specifically limited: what's a good sound card for a basic Digital Audio Workstation setup? I'm looking at the [url=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271003]HT | OMEGA CLARO Plus+[/url. Is that already a good choice?

The budget for this part is $200.

Look into an ASUS Xonar. They are a little less flaky with Vista drivers (and a D@mn sight better than any creative product).

flakey? HT-Omega cards (C-Media chipsets) have amazing drivers for linux, vista 32 and 64.
