Hi all,

I recently bought an ATI HD 3650 video adapter to install on my older computer, a Compaq Presario SR1230NX with a ASUS A7V8X-LA motherboard. I uninstalled the onboard video driver and installed the 3650. But, when I started the computer, all I got was a constant beeping, e.g. beep, beep, beep... The OS doesn't boot, nor do I even see a BIOS or anything on the monitor, just black screen. Any ideas ? I have pulled the card out a few times to ensure that it was seated properly, and I also upgraded the PSU to 430 w. The computer booted up fine before the video card was installed.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

Is the fan on the card spinning?
Did you enable AGP and disable onboard in the bios before changing cards?
The card may be incompatible with your motherboard.

Thanks, but I finally got it running. But, now I think that I need a better driver.

I have the same problem. What did you do to get it running?
