hmmmm ... I read all the posts here and learned a few things (400a vs 500a) and etc. I have disconnected EVERYTHING that is USB, rebooted and STILL get the freaking message. Now what?

If any, did you also disconnect case USB cables? Under Device Manager, Universal Serial Bus controllers, do you see a USB Root HUB (Power tab) that has a total requirement exceeding 500 mA?

The official limitation is 500mA, although some PCs these days will happily stretch to like 600mA (but others won't). I had major problems about 10-12 years ago with a USB modem that wanted 700mA.

You must still have something in USB, do you have an internal memory card reader? what about keyboard/mouse?
