Quick Blackfriday question (whihc Mobo to buy)...please HELP

Hi

I'm lost not possible to decide between the following boards

Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128405 (going at 105)
AND
Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3L http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128406 (going to go at 99.99 on Blackfriday)

The problem is the UD3L has only 3 reviews about it on newegg and the are pretty mixed bag, where as the other board has a much larger review base.....

and also both the boards have 2 PCI-E 16x ports (one @16X and the other @4X), does this mean its Crossfire compatible? Will one port been at 4X be a problem?

  1. Best answer
Both of them support Crossfire but the P55 chipset is not really designed for it. It works, but as you have seen, with two video cards, the speed of the 2nd slot will be limited because its bus is shared with other devices.

It's really up to you which of the two you prefer. Compare their specs and their slot layout (http://bit.ly/8hpZFg) and decide based on that. Personally between the two I'd get the GA-P55M-UD2 but the answer depends entirely on your actual needs.
  2. I got the UD2...I guess the fact it seems to be a board which has a bigger user base and the fact that it had e-sata and 8 channel sound made me do that... :)
