Hello,
I have the E8400 in an Intel DG35EC Motherboard with a ZEROtherm BTF90 cooler on it. Was curious how to overclock this, how far to overclock this, and how much if any this will shorten the lifespan of the CPU. I know nothing about overclocking so explain as such please. Thanks in advance.
Also have 2X Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz E.P.P. Memory and XFX Radeon HD 5750 Video Card - 1GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0 if that factors in at all.

First off we need your full sytem specs including PSU,CPU,GPU,etc.

How long have you had your processor for?O.C.ing decrease's the CPU's lifespane but their is no real way of knowing how short it will become.Usually the more voltage that is used will shorten it's life quicker.

You should read up on O.C.ing in the Tom's Sticky's on O.C.ing at the main page of this section. It has lots of tips for first time overclockers like yourself.
