System hanging problem windows xp

my system frequently goes hanging after swtich on and i use to open internet exploler and i didnt able to type username for web site open

1) Boot into safe mode - choose last known good configuration.

or

2) run sfc /scannow in safe mode.

or

3) Boot from Win CD and repair install

so the problem only occurs only when you start internet explorer or when some other program starts

Check how much ram is available for internet explorer and try to run any other program.
