Hello Tom's Hardware community. I'm currently writing a mini-ethnography for a college course, and I decided to use this website to research.
I need some interviews, and by that, I'm asking if you would answer a few questions about the site. If you have any suggestions about research topics to look into
on the site, let me know. I'm looking for conflicts or tensions that occur in the forums, and it's actually been a slightly difficult task.
You guys tend to be fairly helpful and polite. I think it's the first time I've ever had a problem with polite people, but anyways...

For starters:

Why do you come to this site/ why did you become a member?

What is your main goal when posting on Tom’s Hardware?

What are your thoughts on attaining best answer in a thread?

How do posters' ranks correlate with the trustworthiness of their advice?

How often do you give advice to others?

How often do you receive advice?

What are your thoughts on the advice you receive?

What is your main complaint or annoyance with the site?

What are your feelings on the moderation of the site?

Have you ever had a conflict with the forum section of this site and if possible could you send me a link of such an example?

You don't have to answer all of these, or any of these for that matter. If you feel some of your answers would be controversial or would
like to do a one on one interview, feel free to PM me.
Any insight from users of the forums would be highly appreciated.
And if a Moderator would like to do an interview of sorts, so I can get an opinion from a different user role, that would be absolutely amazing.

Thank you for your time!

I would expect that to be true, very well run site with invisible but highly effective moderation IMO. I would say, little tension, just lots of good people trying to give good answers. And some very smart people here, I find reading other answers as interesting as giving answers to things that I think I know. :)

p.s. Check your PM for my answers.
