Hello friends my system

1. Intel DQ45CB desktop board (which has integrated GMA X4500HD).
2. 1.5 GB of ram
3. 160 GB
4. pentium D 915 2.8 GHz
5. windows XP sp3
6. HP 15 inch monitor( max. resolution 1024*768 )

My question will i be able to play latest games with the integrated graphics card . I think that i should be able to play because i will play at a resolution of 1024*768.

Or if any suggestion to a new graphic card .
But it should be something very cheap (50$ - 70$).

You may be able play some of the latest games at that resolution with the settings turned down, but it would be far from ideal and a lot of games will be unplayable. Any game a few years old should do alright though.
I'd recommend getting a card. In that price range an HD4670 is what you want. Very good card for the money and should do quite well with any game around at that resolution.
FYI that processor isn't very good at all at this point. Fortunately that board can use MUCH better processors if you want to upgrade. For something about twice as fast and still pretty cheap I recommend an E5200 for $70 but it should be able handle core2 quads as well. Also 1.5 megs of RAM isn't much for a gaming system. RAM is quite cheap though these days and you can add 2 more gigs for around $20.

defiantly add a card if you want to play games even a cheap one will make a world of difference

if you try to play the latest games on your PC, they will be a slide show even under low settings

grab a 4670 for $70, you need to upgrade your video before you do anything else.

+1 for the HD 4670...It doesn't require any additional power connectors and would play current games @ that resolution well...

If you are going to bother buying a card make it the HD4670. Anything cheaper won't be worth it really. Anything more powerful is pointless with that cpu and also might require a new PSU depending on what you have.

you can pull games at mid-high settings using a hd4670 on that resolution........but, if you want to max out the setting the hd 5670 is going to be a better option....and also the hd 5670 will be more future proof...

I played NFS undercover...... I maxed everything but i felt very much of slowdowns... And stutterings.... And when i checked GPU-Z the temp rose up to 65-70... Help please...

Reply to 9450392956

ok ok.....have a drink of cola frist [:studiocjf] and chill out.....!

now first thing you got to know is, that you are playing at low res so most of the task will relay on your CPU rather than your GPU.because the CPU has to performs more in low res though you have a good cpu.........

those temps are normal at full load so, not much of a worry....

now, first of all give me the inside picture of your computer......let me just check your ventilation......

i saw your other thread though......sorry :sarcastic: i was not there at home today....

Did I miss something here?

I saw another thread 9450392956 started: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/foru [...] -need-help and I calculated his power usage according to his specs which came out to much less. He also stated that he has a 300 watt Hipro psu which, I believe has only a 68% efficient rating.

So my questions to you are:

1. How did you get 306W-356W from his system?

2. If your estimation of 306-356W is correct (as opposed to my estimation of ~240w +/-) how is his 300 w

Sorry I thought he had a 400w psu........ I just got entangled between two threads out there...my mistake......

but how do yo get 240w???

when he got this when he did the calculations himself :

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/6669/47861216.png

you can scroll a bit upwards to find his original post.

any way i calculated mine according the parts he said......just increased it a bit for safety.....

@9450392956

wait don't play games now your psu is insufficient, its not delivering enough power to your card and hence the games are lagging!!!

just tell me your psu brand and model.
