What does the overheating alarm sound like on a pc

My windows keeps freezing up and it just sounded an alarm noise. I have been running Norton and since then it seems I am having trouble. I have also ran and cleaned put all things possible and it still doesn't help. All of the scans that I do says that the computer is ok. What is the problem, does anyone know?

Have an owners manual ? Download one from manufacturer's site and look for beep codes. Dump Norton and replace, even with a free version of Avast.
Norton is a ram hog and is passe IMO.

Clean scan doesn't guarantee anything. Got a malware scanner also ? Recommend Malwarebytes. Free version is stand alone scanner (after the fact), and pro version is realtime protection, $25 lifetime license. No annual renewal fee required !
