Hello, im looking to build a new system 1Q of 2010. I am trying to locate some DDR3 1333Mhz+ ram in 4GB densities preferably in a 2X4GB kit. I will be running the new Fusion chipset on the MSI big bang, so P55 dual channel. I do not want to buy 4GB of ram or 8GB in a 4 way kit as i currently run 8GB and nearly daily i find myself running out. I am looking to be able to scale up to 16GB with out replacing sticks. I found the Gskill memory and i have heard of them before but never tried them, although there benchmarks on other products seem to indicate its a good brand. I could justify myself spending 150 or maybe even 200 per stick but there current 250-300 a stick is a bit more than i would like to spend. does anyone know of other brands that might have a kit to fit what im looking for? I plan to do a very heavy OC to my CPU so the ram will enhearnetly be raised in speed as well and thus i need some that can handle some stress.

yes, i was looking at it, however i get a i7 870 for 100 bucks and since the new chipsets are coming out for them, they support dual X16 pci-e. from the benches ive seen the p55 comes out ahead of the x58 for most memory bandwidth real world applications, that being said having extra ram would be nice but im also going off a budget, and getting 400 off the cpu is a very enticing factor. the lowered latency on the memory controller seems to more than make up for the loss of tri channel. from what i priced out i would end up spending another 800.00 to go for a x58 over a p55.

Basicly im looking to build a new high end system for under 1500. i have a 1KW PSU and a thermal take armor kandalf liquid cooling case. I can still change my mind on CPU/MB/GPU over the next 2 months. but as it stands the bigbang fusion with a 870 and dual Radeon 5870 or 1 5870 and 1 5850 is what im going for. ill be adding 4 80GB intel SSD's in a raid-0 with 6-500GB and 5-1TB drives in Raid 6. I plan to liquid cool the cpu/mb and try to break 4.5-5Ghz. but i will admit i am slightly mixed about the MB/CPU however after reading benches on the trinity hydra chipset i feel the P55 is a better choice. feel free to comment your opinion

Because of the premium on 4GB DIMMs, you will save money on 3 x 2GB DDR3, or even 6 x 2GB DDR3 e.g.:

Since you plan to OC quite a bit, don't neglect RAM cooling:
this Corsair product looks pretty good:

https://shop.corsair.com/store/item_view.aspx?id=833092
(needs matching Dominator sticks)

... or, at least install a RAM cooling fan like this:

Also, search the Internet for reports of bad LGA1156 sockets,
particularly in OC situations.

im so torn... 1156 will save me money, but at the expence of ram both cost and density. 1366 offers another range of cpu but only 1 (920) in the price range of what im gettin.. dual GPU seem to have no disernable difference between the 2... tri and up the X58 rapes the P55. in nearly all the benches ive looked at the 2 CPU's 920 and 860 bounce back and fourth... maybe a .5% difference on most tests and some about an equal amount the 920 will be 5% faster and on the next the 860 will be 5% faster... then there is the memory tests that show the lower latency of the integrated controller to stomp the tri-channel. i feel like im comparing a chrystler 9.25 to a dana 44... next to the same *** just different package. >.<

so i think after all is said and done, im gonna end up going with these. from what i have read they will hold 1720Mhz stock voltage and hit 2140Mhz stable with 9-24-2t timings... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104164

corsair have there dominators that equal this kit on 1720Mhz and come with a fan but when you kick the kits to 2Ghz the kingston gains a good 3Gbps bandwith over the dominator's... so one more peice for me to OC
