Wrong ribbon cables in Ts-L633a??

Hi,
my friend has advent 5431, he said his dvd writer stopped working, as a favor i said i would look at it for him, upon removing it I saw ribbon cable was not connected, so i opened it and what I found does not make sense, unless im missing something, the cable appewars the wrong one. see below.

and if you look here you can see the whole layout. Whats going on? am i doing something wrong?:

Probably a bit late now, but the ribbon cable that's detached should be attached underneath the connectors (other side of the PCB)
Yours is kaput! Get a new one, if you haven't already.
