So my SSD just arrived, wich is a 64GB Crucial. And i installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, and i takes 27GB with all the drivers installed. Got nothing on my SSD except my OS and Drivers. So my question is, is this realy normal?

I disabled the Hibernate feature wich set me at a used space of 22.2GB

Thanks in advance

It's likely that a good chunk of that is due to the page file - if you spend a little time to analyze your actual memory usage you may be able to cut that back, or you could move it to a different drive if you have one. Another likely consumer of space is restore points that were created when you installed patches.

For what it is worth, windows-7 home premium takes about 13gb with ms security essentials installed.

Do you have a windows.old folder by any chance? It has the old version of windows if you did an update install, and it can be deleted.

With ultimate, are there any features that you can uninstall to save space?
