ok first off i have herd lots about this site so instead of asking my other forum i thought i would ask some people that have real knowledge on the subject.

Ok so my budget is 600-650 i have 210 extra to play with for a good video card or extra if need so total 810-860 Cheaper the better in my case :??: .

Things i will use this system for, gaming, video editing, picture editing, multitasking in general. I need a system that i will not be held back when i get caught up doing 20 things at once and move an slug speed.

I am a gamer and sometimes find my self playing one game, browsing the web and doing work all that the same time and my current pc just can't keep up atm.

In my search for my next pc i would like the ability to do several things at once and still be a avg gamer.

Things i have to cut down price i can re use would be a ati 3450 hd which might be used to pc build opt 3.

Before i go into the systems i did myself my mother is concerned that since its my first build she really does not want me to buy or build cause if somethings brakes I'm on my own i have no fallback or warranty etc..

Now I'm going to school to be a pc IT, i know the in's and out's of the pc so building and setting up a pc is not going to be a issue so I'm not worried but she wants me to look int brands like dell etc but i can build so much better then what any of those sites offer.

also a few last things i can have ps open, dream weaver, office 07, FireFox with about 11-16 tabs and be going between 20 different things and my pc does good, i can even have a mmo open and play cs:s and have very little lag, or have cs:s open and work on ps and firefox and forget i have a game open on a single core but at other times my pc just slows so far down its just i can't take it and its time for a upgrade i would say i got the 2k and 6-7 years out of it and its more then enough for my mother and her bring home work, another reason why i;m getting a new pc is cause I'm always on doing something from building website or playing...

Ok so here are a few before hand questions: do i really need quad over dual? The Case i have been looking at comes with a name brand psu of 500w and peak 580w. I have done the research and everything seems to say that 500 is more then enough expect for my 3rd build when i come close to 412w.

and another one I'm sure you all have gone into a lot, for my 3rd build i can either get 2 sticks that equal 4gb of ddr3, or 3gb of single sticks for tri channel, if i go with 4gb that use to be the sweet spot and down the road i could upgrade to a 3rd stick giving me 6gb and tri chan but do i really need more then 3 i mean i can always upgrade down the road.

Ok now for what i have picked out.

My first build which i have been favoring is a AMD Build.

That system Will cost me 820 minus shipping - without the video card it would cost me 600ish - issues are is the psu big enough? I from stock will not oc anything but down the road my cpu a little, from the pcu calculators that's not gonna push me no higher then the low 380's not sure how much its gonna push if i oc my gpu.

Here is option two.

That system Will cost me 830 minus shipping - without the video card it would cost me 600ish - issues are is the psu big enough? I from stock will not oc anything but down the road my cpu and gpu.

Now for the first or second build i will drop that card for this one if needed.

The amd build drops price to 735 and the intell build would be 750

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103291

The price is now 695.

Now if i use the above cpu with the orig 4890 gpu the price is 775 leaving me some spare change in case my psu is not enough.

Now with that added change if i dropped that case/psu i could get a antec 300 with a 650w psu 80% and sli/crossfire ready
this is that psu

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.198951

Gpu would be the 3450 hd i have in my dell, i would put the old x300 back in the dell.

grand total with the antec combo is 792

now if i drop the antec combo and go with the

RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WBP Black 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case With 500W Power Supply - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156062

my price would be 775 allowing me to possibly upgrade gpu to either of these two video cards the 3870 makes my price 860 and the 4830 makes it 865 which is really pushing my budget as i said before the cheaper the better.

Now i'm going to be buying one of these systems tomorrow probably.

So what i wanted to know was, is the 500w psu enough to power each of those systems?

any downsides to the 9950 vs the 940?

out of those options what whould be the most wise to get?

any changes i should make?

Thanks in advance to who ever helps me thanks.
