Your Sony uses the older IDE style 80 pin connector hard drives (otherwise known as PATA, or simply ATA). The newer standard is SATA, otherwise known as Serial-ATA. Unfortunately, the two are not interchangeable. If you have another IDE hard drive, or are going to buy one, simply follow the instructions shown in this how-to video to install.
