Hello all,

components:
HIS H687F1G2M Radeon HD 6870 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 Video Card
Intel i5 Sandy bridge 2500k 3.3Ghz
Biostar TP67B+ LGA 1155 P67 ATX Intel Motherboard
ModXStream Pro 700W Modular ATX Power Supply
Viper II Sector 5 Series PVV34G1600LLKB 4GB
Antec 300 case

I have everything on stock settings, and whenever I play BFBC2, my computer freezes/crashes after about 10 minutes of gameplay. I have to manually turn off the computer, I cannot CTRL ALT DEL out of anything. It just straight up freezes. I tried both on high and medium settings, noticing no artifacts or anything weird. My cores get up to about ~66c on my intel, GPU gets up to about ~63c. Are these temps safe? I would assume so.

Tried reinstalling latest drivers...what am I missing here?

Thanks

I found that over all with several different ati cards that I have had problems with bc2 try underclocking your card and if your using ccc then disable the ati catylist intelligent thing...sorry been awhile since I have used ccc for my ati cards and set all the settings to max in ccc and give that a try... let us know if that helps....I had to do that for sniper ghost warrior for it to run smooth but it never did crash

I tried reinstalling BC2. Since then, I haven't had a problem.

You should try this and report back, let me know if it fixes it for you.

Hello everybody! I am also having this crashing issue with the HIS H687F1G2M Radeon HD 6870 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 Video Card. I get about 10 minuets of gameplay on BF2BC and my pc just shuts off completely. Originally I thought it was my 500w power supply so I bought a 1000w supply and the game still crashed. I've also tried reinstalling the game but no luck. Everywhere online there doesn't seem to be a solution.

I have this exact same problem. Just crashes the whole computer in a multiplayer game. Tried all the suggestions. I only have issues w/ Battlefield Bad Company 2. Every other game is fine. I have Windows 7 x64, XFX HD 6870 x2 (crossfired), 6 gigs ram, AMD Phenomx4, 1000 watt power supply. I'm pulling my hair out can someone please help.

i had this problem on one of my builds i switched the game down to DX10 and it ran smooth. but i never tried anything else to fix it so if your not bothered about DX11 just switch to DX10
lemme know if it works or not :)

I too am very curious to see if dropping it down to DX10 works, or if a full re-install of the game is required. A friend who uses a 6870 mentioned something similar, and I wasn't able to help.

Hey guys, I joined this forum just to reply to this post.

I have the exact same issue!! BC2 just crashes even when my 6870 is on stock settings. My temperatures don't even go above 60 degrees!!! I have the MSI Twin Frozr II 6870.

Has anyone found a solution yet? At first I thought it was a PSU issue so I am glad I stumbled upon this thread!
